This policy explains how MatSu Compass handles personal information collected through matsucompass.com, including trip inquiries, contact and feedback forms, quote communications, and ordinary website use.

The direct cabin booking site at stay.matsucompass.com is a separate service with its own rental terms and privacy disclosures.

2. Information We Collect

• Contact details: Your name, email address, optional phone number, and preferred contact method.
• Request details: Dates, group size, budget range, interests, fitness information, pickup or lodging requests, accessibility needs, and notes you choose to provide.
• Communications and records: Your messages, our replies, quote details, status notes, and information needed to administer a service you confirm.
• Review submissions: Your first name, private email address, rating, optional visit month and headline, review text, publication consent, moderation status, and source information when a review is imported from another platform.
• Technical and security data: Internet Protocol address and submission timing used for short-term rate limiting and abuse prevention, plus server request data needed to operate and secure the site.
• Website analytics: Aggregated page views and information such as page, referrer, approximate location, browser, operating system, and device type through Vercel Web Analytics. Vercel describes this analytics product as cookie-free and not tied to an identified individual.

3. How We Use Information

• Review your request, respond to you, and prepare a custom written quote.
• Confirm and administer a service you choose to purchase.
• Send inquiry acknowledgments and other transactional messages.
• Provide support, document decisions, and resolve questions or disputes.
• Protect the forms and website from spam, fraud, misuse, and security threats.
• Understand aggregate website use and improve our pages and services.
• Check reviews for relevance, privacy, authenticity, and spam; publish only the fields you authorized; and keep your submitted email address private.
• Maintain records and comply with applicable legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

4. Service Providers

We use service providers to run the website and communicate with you. They process information for those operational purposes under their own terms and privacy practices:

• Upstash Redis: Stores trip inquiries, review submissions, moderation decisions, and related administrative records. Review Upstash's legal and privacy information.
• Zoho ZeptoMail: Delivers inquiry acknowledgments and other transactional email. Review Zoho's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel: Hosts and operates the website and provides privacy-focused web analytics. Review the Vercel Web Analytics privacy information and Vercel Privacy Notice.
• Square: Processes card payments sent after an experience quote is confirmed and processes payments on the separate cabin booking site. Card details entered into Square are handled by Square rather than stored in our inquiry database. Review Square's Privacy Notice.

5. Reviews and Public Display

A submitted review is private by default. If approved, we may display only the first name, rating, optional visit month and headline, review text, and service category covered by your consent. The email address supplied with a review is used for administration and is not published.

Reviews imported from Airbnb are labeled and linked to the listing. When we summarize an imported review for length, the public card identifies it as a summary rather than a verbatim quotation. You may ask us to remove a review associated with you.

6. Separate Cabin Booking Site

When you follow a cabin link, your browser leaves matsucompass.com and opens stay.matsucompass.com. Information you enter there—including reservation details, guest messages, and Square payment information—is handled under that site's policies. Review them before booking. A trip inquiry submitted on this site does not itself create or pay for a cabin reservation.

7. When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only as reasonably needed:

• To the operational providers listed above.
• To an identified service provider when needed to evaluate or deliver a service you requested; we will identify applicable provider arrangements in the quote process.
• When you direct or authorize us to share it.
• To comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests.
• To protect guests, MatSu Compass, the website, or others from fraud, misuse, or harm.

8. Retention

We keep inquiry and communication records for as long as reasonably needed to respond, prepare or administer a requested service, maintain business records, resolve disputes, protect the site, and meet legal, tax, or accounting requirements. Because requests and legal duties vary, there is no single retention period for every record. Security and rate-limit data is intended to be short-lived. Service-provider backups or records may remain for an additional period under their retention practices.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not place payment-card numbers, government identifiers, or unnecessary sensitive medical details in an inquiry form.

10. Access, Correction, and Deletion

You may ask us to identify, provide, correct, or delete personal information associated with you. We may need to verify your identity before acting and may retain information when required by law or reasonably necessary for security, dispute, tax, or accounting purposes.
